Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS)

The mission of the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) is to provide authoritative, efficient, and coordinated responses to environmental emergencies and individual crises by providing integrated services such as rescue and protection, direct financial assistance, referrals for medical treatment legal assistance, psychosocial support temporary shelter.

Disaster Response Operations

The goal of this program is to provide disaster response, rehabilitation, relief, and recovery services in coordination with local governments during a disaster or calamity. This aligns with RA 10121, also known as the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.


The KALAHI-CIDSS is a community development project driven by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. LGUs and communities receive training under KALAHI-CIDSS so that they can design, select, and implement sub-projects targeting their top priority issue. The project plans to reduce poverty rates by providing communities with the means to help themselves and by holding local governments accountable for meeting community-identified development needs.

Social Pension For Indigent Senior Citizens

This type of pension is also called a non-contributory pension. It is a regular cash transfer made to older people. The government provides Php 500 to indigent senior citizens per month as required by the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 or the Republic Act 9994. This is to help supplement the daily expenses and other medical needs of senior citizens.

Supplementary Feeding Program

Children in Day Care Centers (DCCs) will be given hot meals to supplement their diets during the morning and afternoon break/snack periods. Parents will be in charge of the feeding program and meal cycle, using only local food supplies. The weight of children who will receive the aid will be taken at the start of the feeding program and then 3 months after. The improvement and sustainability of their nutritional status will be determined after 120 days of feeding.

Sustainable Livelihood Program

The Sustainable Livelihood Program is a community-driven capacity-building initiative that helps program participants improve their socio-economic status. The program employs the Community-Driven Enterprise Development (CDED) approach to empower participants so they may take advantage of local resources and markets, enabling them to meaningfully contribute to labor markets.
